On 27 June to 1 July 2022, Kenya and Portugal will be cohosting the 2nd UN Oceans Conference in Lisbon. The aim of the conference will be to accelerate action towards the implementation of SDG14. The high level event at Stockholm +50 will feed into the outcome of UNEA5.2 adopted resolution on plastic pollution, Nature based pollution and resolution on post-COVID-19 green recovery. The event will also feed into the high level special event by members of the oceans panel scheduled to be held on the margins of the UN Oceans Conference and also COP27 which incorporated the Oceans climate action to the COP agenda.
