Achieving a sustainable and inclusive recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic: Shaping economies that work for women

SIDE EVENT
Friday 3 June
09:00-10:00 CEST
Stockholmsmässan, Room 4

Organizers: President of the UN General Assembly, co-hosted by Government of Sweden and the United Nations Foundation

About:

Achieving a sustainable and inclusive recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic will require a serious assessment of how economies across the world work for women. At the same time, the world is undergoing a transformative change like never before. With technological advancements driving innovation and change, it is time to re-think practices that have hindered the just and inclusive participation of women and help re-shape economies that work for women, especially as we transition to more nature-positive, low-carbon, resource-efficient, sustainable, and inclusive economies. The opportunity to rebuild better after the COVID-19 pandemic, offers an opportunity to pursue an international dialogue about the role of women in the sustainable economies of the future, especially in high impact sectors.
